Privacy and cookies

Who we are
getlawyer.now is run by Freedom Gateway LLC (“we”). There are no forms or accounts on this site and we never ask about your legal problem. This policy covers what is collected when you visit.
What we collect
Our own analytics (site-analytics)
Our web server adds a first-party script, served from getlawyer.now/_sa/, to every page. It collects: a random visitor ID stored in a cookie (sa_vid) and local storage; a device fingerprint calculated with FingerprintJS from browser and device characteristics (such as browser and operating system version, screen, installed fonts, graphics and audio capabilities, language and time zone); device and connection details (browser and device type, screen and window size, language, time zone, device memory and processor count, touch support, connection type and speed, battery level where the browser reports it, page load speed, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals); how you arrived (referring page, campaign tags and ad click IDs); what you do on the site (pages viewed, clicks including which outbound link you followed, scrolling, time on page, JavaScript errors); session recordings of how pages are used (layout, mouse movement, scrolling and clicks, with anything typed into a field masked in your browser); and your IP address with the approximate location (country, region, city) and network provider looked up from it, and whether it appears to belong to a hosting provider or VPN. It doesn’t read passwords, typed values or other sites’ cookies. The data is stored on servers we run.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic (pages viewed, how you arrived, device and browser type, approximate location). Google sets the cookies listed below and processes the data under its own terms.
Cloudflare and server logs
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and request details to deliver and protect the site. Our servers log your IP address, the time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user agent.
Consent in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland
To decide whether to ask first, your browser asks Cloudflare’s edge for the country of your connection (the /cdn-cgi/trace address on this site) or, if that fails, uses your time zone; if neither tells us, for example a UTC time zone, we treat you as in that area. If you appear to be in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, our analytics and Google Analytics stay off until you choose Accept; Reject keeps them off and deletes the analytics cookies and local storage listed below. Elsewhere analytics runs by default, unless your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal: we treat that as Reject wherever you are. Anyone can change their choice with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Google’s advertising features (ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization) are always off.
How we use it and who receives it
We use this information to see which pages help people, to keep the site secure and to meet legal obligations. We don’t sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. It goes only to Google and Cloudflare as described, to service providers acting for us, to authorities when the law requires, and to a successor if the site is sold. We rely on our legitimate interest in running the site, or your consent where required.
Cookies and local storage
consent(us): Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics. Lasts 1 year.geo(us): Remembers whether your connection's country is in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland. Lasts 1 day.sa_vid (cookie and local storage)(us): Our analytics: recognizes a returning browser. Lasts 2 years.sa_sid, sa_sat, sa_rq, __sa (local storage)(us): Our analytics: groups page views into a visit. Lasts until you clear site data._ga, _ga_CG4SDMWL37(Google): Google Analytics: tells visits and visitors apart. Lasts up to 2 years.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site works without them. Blocking cookies doesn’t stop the fingerprint: use Reject in Cookie settings or block /_sa/ with a content blocker.
Retention and your rights
Google Analytics data is kept up to 14 months; our analytics records and logs as long as needed for the purposes above. To access, correct or delete your information, email [email protected] with your visitor ID (the sa_vid value) or the time and IP address of your visit; we reply within 30 days. EU, UK and Swiss residents can also complain to their data protection authority. US state residents have the rights their state law gives, and we won’t treat you differently for using them.
Children, security and changes
The site isn’t directed at children under 13 (16 in the EU and UK). We use HTTPS; our servers are in the United States. If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top.
